Managed by Glenborough, LLC, the Aventine Office building was recently certified Platinum under the LEED-EB Rating System. Glenborough began pursuing LEED Certification starting in late 2009 after the building completed its Gap Analysis positioning the building for the highest level of certification. With a present EPA ENERGY STAR score of “100”, the Aventine is considered one of the most sustainable and energy efficient building operations in the United States. ENERGY EFFICIENCY & SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGIES: - Installed Next Generation Technology used in Chiller Plant Control & Equipment - Implemented web-based work order system and tenant service handbook reducing paper - Installed ENERGY STAR “Cool Roof” to reduce heat island effect - Reduced outside lighting levels, decreasing energy usage and light pollution - Improved Indoor Air Quality program by installing CO2 Sensors throughout HVAC Systems - Implemented Comprehensive Green Cleaning and Procurement Program - Developed Strategic Partnership Team - Created LEED “Internship” with Strategic Vendor Leveraging Resources - Off-Set 100% of Electricity usage purchasing renewable energy credits (Wind Power) QUANTIFIABLE RESULTS: - ENERGY STAR score increased from “86” to “100” in 2009 / “100” From 2009 - 2013 present! - Reduced site energy use intensity to 25 (kBtu2Yr) from 42 (kBtu2Yr) - Utility expenses decreased by 40% since inception of major retrofits started in 2008 - Reduced annual electricity consumption by 886,509 kilowatts - Reduced annual water consumption by 47% or 1,243,924 gallons - Improved waste diversion rate from 27% to 63% - 100% reclaimed water used for landscaping irrigation
